The Gigaset climate displays different temperatures than the Gigaset Universal Sensor. Why?



Why do you need a Gigaset climate?

The Gigaset climate transmits its measured temperature to all Gigaset radiator thermostats in the same room so that you can set your desired room temperature even more precisely. This is because the temperature sensor built into the thermostat measures the temperature directly at the heater, which does not necessarily correspond to the room temperature.


In addition, the climate measures the current humidity and notifies you if the humidity is too high or too low.


Excessive humidity favours the growth of mould and can cause damage to health.

Controlling the Gigaset thermostat with the Gigaset climate

It is important that the Gigaset climate is grouped together with the Gigaset thermostats located in the room. This means the following:


When you log in to the elements app, select [Rooms] on the start screen. If no room has been created and assigned yet, you will have all your Gigaset sensors listed for assignment under [UNASSIGNED].


Assign your Gigaset sensors to a room.


  • Select a Gigaset sensor and please tap on the Gigaset sensor.
  • Next, select [Room].
  • If a room has already been created, you can assign the Gigaset sensor to it by tapping on the room name.
  • If no room has been created yet, select "Add new room" with the slider to the right.
  • Tap on the line under "Room name" and assign the desired name.
  • Finally, tap the tick in the upper area and the setting is saved.

Now assign all Gigaset climate and Gigaset thermostats to the desired rooms.


A rule is not necessary for the Gigaset climate sensors and Gigaset thermostats. Carry out the following steps for control to take place:


  • Select the room for which you want to make the setting.
  • Tap on one of the Gigaset thermostats.
  • Please set the temperature that should always be maintained in the room, e.g. 20°C.
  • Please select the button [Apply to room] to set the setting for all Gigaset thermostats assigned in the room.


If the Gigaset climate detects that the room temperature falls below the set temperature, the Gigaset thermostats are automatically switched until the room temperature is restored.


Note:

If no room or a room without a Gigaset climate is assigned to a Gigaset thermostat, the sensor integrated in the Gigaset thermostat takes over temperature monitoring. Please note that the control accuracy cannot be compared with a Gigaset climate, as the temperature directly at the radiator does not necessarily correspond to the room temperature.



The Gigaset climate displays different temperatures than the Gigaset Universal Sensor. Why?

We have carried out tests with a Gigaset climate and a Gigaset Universal Sensor next to it, which also displays the temperature.


The result shows that the sensors display a deviation of 0.5°C to 1°C, which is, however, within the norm.


The tests were carried out in a calibrated climatic cabinet with a set, constant temperature of 20°C and a humidity of 60%.


We would like to point out that heat accumulation and draughts have a significant effect on the Gigaset sensors. The Gigaset climate sends the temperature to the Smart Home base at 30-minute intervals unless you press the button on the sensor and it is "woken up". The Gigaset Universal Sensor sends a current temperature to the Smart Home base every 90 minutes. This can cause differences.
