What modes are available?

1. away mode:

The [Out of Home] mode is set when someone is not at home for a longer period of time. Only in this mode are the Gigaset sensors switched so that an alarm message is sent to the smartphone via push message when movement is registered. This means you are always informed about what is going on in your home. Everything is also recorded here in the event list.

When you come home, switch the Smart Home system to "at home" beforehand via the elements app. Otherwise, the Gigaset siren (if present) will sound the alarm when you enter the home. However, you can also set an alarm delay to come home in peace. During this time you can change the mode to "at home". In addition, you will receive an alarm message via push notification on your smartphone. Alternatively, you can also use the Gigaset button to switch the Smart Home System. The smartphone is no longer needed for this.

2. Home mode:

The [Home] mode is set when someone is at home. In this mode, push messages are only displayed on the smartphone in the event of "Homecoming" and "Suspicion of burglary".

If someone leaves the home, the Gigaset motion detects a movement, the Gigaset door then detects a door opening and subsequently a door closing. This sequence is also displayed as a push message as "Homeleaving".

If you have switched on "Privacy", no events are recorded either.

3. Custom mode:

This mode is a combination of "Away" and "Home". Here you can individually set how each individual Gigaset sensor should react.

You have the following notification options to choose from: "Off", "Notification" or "Alarm & Notification".

For the Gigaset door, for example, you can set which push message you want when the door is opened. In the field below you can also set what should happen if someone tries to force the door open.

The same is also possible with the Gigaset window. Here you can set which push message you want to receive when "window tilted" and "window open".

4. night mode:

This corresponds to the "custom" mode and is set in the same way. So you have another mode that you can adjust specifically to your needs.

This provides the Smart Home System with some individual setting options to adapt the Smart Home System even better to your requirements.

Time delay in "away" mode

The time delay in "away" mode determines the amount of time that must elapse before an alarm is triggered. This way you do not have to set the desired mode in advance, but have enough time to arrive home relaxed. For example, if you set a delay of 30 seconds, you can activate the home mode within this time period using your smartphone or a Gigaset button without an alarm being triggered directly. If you do not manage to change the mode within these 30 seconds, an alarm is automatically triggered. With the help of this function, you can therefore set yourself how much time you need after arrival to enter your house in peace and set the home mode. To set the time delay, proceed as follows:

  • Click on the horizontal stripes at the top left
  • Click on [Configuration]
  • Click on [Alarm].
  • At [Alarm Delay] you can set the time delay.
  • Click on the tick at the top right to save

Please keep in mind that a shorter response time contributes to the security of your system; therefore, we recommend a maximum time delay of 30 seconds.

Homecoming and Homeleaving

If you activate Homecoming, the Gigaset elements app notifies you when there has been a door opening and a motion detection within the next 5 minutes.

Homeleaving means that there was movement, then the door was closed and no more movement was deactivated within the next 5 minutes.

For example, with Homecoming you have the option of being notified when and if your child has come home.

With Homeleaving, you can, for example, be notified if and when your child leaves the house.

Through "Personalised Notifications", the Smart Home System automatically recognises which family member is leaving or coming into the house with the smartphone and informs the other family members.

ATTENTION: A homecoming / leaving can only be activated if a door/universal sensor and a motion sensor are registered in your system.

Activate Homecoming / leaving

Activating Homecoming / leaving is possible in 8 simple steps:

  1. Open the Gigaset elements app
  2. Click on the 3 horizontal stripes in the upper left corner
  3. Click on [Configuration]
  4. Click on [Homecoming / leaving]
  5. Click on the door / doors with which to enter the house / flat
  6. Under "Track..." you can switch Homecoming and/or Homeleaving to "active".
  7. Under "By selecting..." you can switch on a motion detector so that the system can register a movement.
  8. Click on the tick in the top right-hand corner to complete the process.

It becomes even more comfortable with the "Personalised Homecoming Function". The Smart Home system automatically recognises which family member is leaving or entering the house with the smartphone and informs the other family members.

Personalised Homecoming / leaving

A personalised homecoming is generated when your smartphone is detected within the radius of your home and the home is entered within 15 minutes.

A personalised homeleaving is generated when you leave your home and your smartphone is outside the radius of your home within 15 minutes.

For "Personalised Homecoming", you can define the size of a GPS zone in the form of a circle in the elements app.

If you enter the defined Gigaset Smart Home Zone with your smartphone and then open the front door, the system reports a corresponding Homecoming event.

The elements app sends a push notification with the name entered, e.g. "Max Mustermann has come home" instead of "It seems someone has come home".

For this function it is necessary that the location services of your smartphone are activated.

For security reasons, the mode of the Smart Home system cannot be automatically set from "away" to "home" by entering the defined zone.
